When I was a kid, I used a bumper jack in the hole. Leaned the weight against the tractor wheel and just jacked it up. Had the holes lined up first. Of course if I cared about the paint (there wasn't much on that tractor) I'd have done something different.

Personally and based on the sound advice from this distinguished panel :D I take the wheel off the tractor, lay the wheel weight on the ground - outside down - lay the rim on the wheel weight and bolt in place. Stand it up and reinstall with fresh never-seize.

Just learned this from the younger guys on the forum - I used to lift the weight up and set it on the rim. :oops: :oops:

Here is a method that always struck me as an easy way to do it. Never tried it thus far, but I thought it was pretty ingenious. (from the "How To" forum)
