Farmall Cub

Hello,
I have an opportunity to purchase a sickle mower and I’m looking for some advice. This one is 5’5” long and I’m told was used to cut hay for many years. I have been told however that the 4’ sickles are more desirable. Are the 5’5” ones problematic or too much for the cub? Any and all advice is appreciated.

4 1/2 and 5 foot I think was the length Either works fine

Joe, That extra 6" makes a difference if you have a lot to mow.

I have a 5 ft and power has never been a problem even when cutting some pretty nasty stuff, old berry briars and such in a field that hadn't been touched in years. Vern
