Postby Farmall Henry » Sun Apr 20, 2014 10:58 am

Will not advance with the throttle, can move it manually where it crosses through the tractor. can get several govs from ebay but they have a flat top wieghts and a groved top weights. What is the difference and is a a year thing. Thanks

make sure the linkage on the top of the governor is free before you buy anything. The arm will freeze up quite often. If it is frozen lube liberally with a penetrant and carefully move it back and forth to loosen. It is very easy to break these so be careful.

My serial number plate is missing but the casting date on the engine indicates a 1950. If the governor is original to it (mine), it has the groove type weights.
