Wheel Weights

Postby oldhammerhead » Fri Apr 18, 2014 5:38 pm

Hello Just joined this site today,I have a question about rear wheel weights. I have a 49 cub that is used for mowing and bought rear wheel weights for traction Rear wheels have been turned around for wider stance. should weights be put on the outside or can they be put on the inside. is their enough clearance for the hub . Thanks in advance Steve.

The weights will fit inside if you feel that is where you want them.

Welcome to the forum! There is a CubFest May 3rd in Burlington, Kansas. If you have that date open it would be a great time where you can learn a lot about Cubs, meet many of the active members of this web site and just have some great fun. You'll be glad you went.

If you can't make that date there will be another May 17th, 2014 in California, Missouri.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Have you mowed without the weights? If not, you may want to see if you really need them before mounting them. And welcome to the Forum.

If by turned around you mean the disks have been turned out, yes the weights can be put on either way. If you put them on the outside it is easier to do since you do not have to remove the disk, but they will extend an inch or two beyond the wheel.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Welcome to the forum.

While mowing on the hills keep the engine on the up side of the hill. These little tractors can turn over. Weights will also help keep all 4 on the ground.

On hilly terrain it will also help to space the wheels OUT. The operators manual shows the configurations.

Here is how you hide the red weights on a yeller tractor....
