Touch Control

Postby Edd_D » Wed Apr 16, 2014 5:55 pm

Finally had a chance today to go back and check out my Touch Control problem on my 1951 Cub.

Like I said in a previous post, when I move the lever back quickly and forward quickly, the lift goes up and down smoothly.
However, when I move the lever slowly to the back, everything starts jumping just like air in in the hydrolics.

So, I took the fill bolt out and let the tractor idle while I ran the lift up and down........ did it 200 times (yes, I counted).

Still jumps around when the lever goes backwards or when the lever is over 50% toward the back.

Any ideas? Doesn't appear to be air.

Try adjusting ALL the linkage involved according to the genuine service manual.

Checked all as suggested. Still not working.

I opened the touch control back up. The only item I wonder about is if there is something that is supposed to come out of the housing where 18, 19 and 20 in this diagram fit into the block. http://www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/Blue%2 ... ontrol.htm

Anybody know?

I think I'm narrowing this problem down. When I pulled everything out of the block, I found that number 18 or page 30 of this service manual is sticking and doesn't slide up and down correctly. http://www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/Blue%2 ... ontrol.htm

However, I can't seem to find what to do to fix the problem. What is under this in the block?
