Hand Lift

Postby Bamacub » Tue Apr 15, 2014 7:14 am

How would a cub with hand lift handle a 42 IH belly mower? To heavy or not.

Should work fine. I never had a problem when I used mine. You may have to adjust the spring tension to make it easier on you to raise it.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

No problem ant all, just adjust the helper spring to the point there is a little weight on the hand lift so it does not bonce back and forth against the teeth on the lift.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

I have a 59" Woods mower on mine and a 54 grading and leveling blade. Haven't had any trouble managing either with the manual lift.

I love my hand lifts...Got them on both tractors...I like using the front blade with a hand lift....It "floats" better when you want it to...Kevin mowers are nice too...might keep ya from shaving the top of the grass...

my 47 had a manual hand lift, I had no deck on it and my buddy jumped up on the tractor to check it out. the hand lever was in the vertical position since I just took the deck off. He says " what does this button do" grabbed the handle and pushed the button and of course the lever ripped out of his hand and flew forward. BANG. that springs pretty wicked. it was funny. but all my cubs now have hyd's.

I like a hand lift for mowing, let it down to desired height when you start and raise it when done, and don't have to worry about it needing repaired. I really like it for grading, uou can do a much better job of getting an even smooth job, but arthritis in my hands, shoulders, and back convinced me to switch to hydraulics.
