Help!! I'm Lost

Postby cubby » Mon Apr 14, 2014 9:15 pm

:lost: I went out Sunday and picked up a 1975 Y&W cub. I traded a 1948 "H".I have never seen a Y&W newer cub like this, and now I own one.I can see they are different from the early cubs. Since i have had the tractor, I have tried to find GOOD and True information about it. WELL, I QUIT. I won't ever go any place except right here for my answers. I have learned my lesson. Sooo I will ask what i need to know. Does it go by serial # where it changed to positive ground? Was all the tractors that had positive grounds 12 volts? I'm trying to clean the # tag off and will get my seal # on Tuesday. When did the increase in HP come (what serial #)? How much did they increase in HP. If I can't read my serial#, how do I know if it should be positive or negative. If someone(I won't say who) hooked a 12 volt battery to positive ground, and it should be negative ground, what will happen. We started the tractor and drove it off the trailer and into the shop.We turned it off right away. I bought a 12 volt battery today but have not hooked it up.I went to 4 different stores with my box measurements and the battery I have is 1.5" to long. What battery, with part number or name will fit with the box covers on.I also tried to search my questions and got a lot of other answers not from farmall cub. When u do a search, how do u just search on this site. Thank you as always Rick :help: :help:
