front axle grease fitting
reading The Riot's post about which way to turn the front axle and grease fitting reminded me of a question I intended to ask. I was recently helping a local man with his lowboy and his axle did not have a grease fitting on the center pivot. It was already installed, but i gave it a pretty good going over and could find no evidence of a grease fitting ever having been there. I checked front, rear, top, and bottom sides of the pivot with no indication of a hole or broken fitting being found. That is the first lowboy I ever worked on, and I was curious if this was normal for a low boy.

Both mine do, as well. On the back side on the right and on the front on left side.

Re: front axle grease fitting
My standard Cub, probably constructed from assorted parts, has not indication of a zerk on the front axle pivot.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: front axle grease fitting
My 48 has the adjustable axle and I toook it off to clean and repaint it and the pivot. This one also does not have a zerk. I sandblasted all that down to bare metal and no zerk or no indication of a zerk anywhere.
Tractors are like watermelons: the RED is good and you throw away the GREEN.
