Decisions, Decisions

Postby John *.?-!.* cub owner » Thu Apr 03, 2014 10:57 am

the ground was dry enough to till and plant, and seemed warm enough, but it is about a month to early under normal conditions for this area, and I have been trying to decide whether to mount the flail mower or put the Howard Rotavator on. Mother nature made the decision last night. 2.5 inches of rain in 3 hours. the flail will go on, it will be a while before the garden dries enough to plant. If I had tilled and planted, the ground would be packed so hard nothing would be able to break through the crust.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Could be mowing lawn in a week. Grass is greening up and growing nicely. Soil is squishy. Might have to mow the lawn grass and bale for the first cutting.

Rain in the 10 day forecast. Gonna be a while until the garden is dry enough to till.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Leveled the garden area a week ago; dry as a bone. Decided not to put a garden in this Spring because I thought I was going to have surgery, now, continued that way due to too many projects taking time. Because not gardening this year, planted grass seed on the bare garden spot the night it started raining (Tues). Got 1.1" that night and we got more yesterday and last night. Like Eugene said, the yard's squishy.
