Hi all!
Can you find my cub? Just went out to Google Maps to look at the pictures of my property online. Found Merlin sitting in the yard on a nice sunny day! It is kind of creepy that Google has this kind of "street view" pictures of houses, but at the same time it is kind of neat to see that my cub has some notariety. I was originally going to put my address on here and let everyone see what I saw, but I thought the better of it. If any of your tractors are outside on a regular basis, try searching for your address on Google Maps and when it comes up, grab the little yellow "guy" on the side of the map. Drop him on the street by your house and see if your tractors show up. Merlin did! He kind of looked at home there!

Re: Hide and Seek
I've done that several times. No Cubs yet but I have seen BOB many times. I believe this is an aerial of Cecil's during a CubFest.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

If you look real close, you'll see me, hiding in the bushes, at Cecil's, waiting to jump a poor unsuspecting donut!

Re: Hide and Seek
A while back my son pointed out that the image was taken when we got back from 4-wheeling, the trailer was hooked up and the quads loaded. I looked again a few months back for some reason and it had been updated… now the trailer attached and a Cub in the drive behind it (ready to load, or just unloaded). We have a strict HOA and I cannot have a trailer outside for more than 48 hours any given month, so, catching it twice is interesting.
At my house, the aerial view is at a different time than the street view as not only is the trailer and Cub gone….. but the yard went from a lush green to a stressed more brownish state. The street view notes Aug. ’13 date, no date found on the aerial, but predates that based on several clues available.
Pretty interesting stuff, has lots of applications I am sure, I know my insurance company used it for my place in NE when gathering information to add it to my policy. I also noted the street view is not available everywhere, at least not in the rural area my place is in NE.

Re: Hide and Seek
That's cool I haven't ever looked up my address on google. Unfortunately no cubs in sight at my place either. I keep them all locked up inside. I need more trees in my front yard...

Jason, Try the "street view" for an up close and personal look at your place. Maybe you were out on your Cub when the Google Car came by...

Re: Hide and Seek
County assessor uses satellite photos to check the property description list.
Have used satellite photography obtained from local (fed and state) agencies to plan conservation projects on the acreage. These agencies much higher quality photos and print outs.
I took a satellite photo and some ground level photos of the location where I wanted the shop building constructed on the acreage to the discussions with the contractor.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Hide and Seek
The last qoogle earth pic we have was last spring after I plowed. All it showed was how crooked my rows were. Made me a little ashamed after telling the wife how straight my rows were.
Tractors are like watermelons: the RED is good and you throw away the GREEN.

No luck, still no cubs frolicking in the yard. These pictures look old. All the big bushes in front of my house are gone now. I wonder how long ago these were taken.
