Our tractor supply store has a wall full of farmall cub parts. I don't know if they have them in your area. I got a voltage regulator from them yesterday $47. They had all the gauges in stock on the wall. Cheaper then the IH dealer and if you get the wrong part it's your fault for not reading the label.

If you have a Carquest auto parts store in your area they sell an ammeter that is very similar, if you still have a generator, be sure NOT to get the 60amp one, or you will not be able to tell if it is charging.

Rob, I got a nice USA (CT no less) made one from Steiner. My mistake was getting 60 amp, so it hardly moves on a 12v Cub. They have IH labeled ones for twice the money, but a 20 or 30A one is only $12.25

Thanks for the suggestion about the insulation of the terminals from the bracket as a short may cause ammeter to not read. That may be what is wrong with my Ford tractor so I need to check it.

Rob,

I've dealt with a local gentleman to us in Coventry Ct. who sells gauges. I've purchased a few and have been very happy with them.
