Hydraulic Bypass Question

Can anyone tell me the purpose for this hydraulic bypass set-up? Thanks for any and all information.

That was the original configuration for the first year (or two?). Then that loop was eliminated.

That is the pressure bypass, on the later ones it is internal.

It doubles as a bottle opener as evidence shown by the cap on the blow out plug proves.....
