Re: Snow plow
I'm guessing you have a Cub-54 blade. Is it the rod in the bottom of the picture, and the lift arm on the right side of the pallet that you need?

Re: Snow plow
Might be the original Leveling and Grading blade. Might want to upgrade with 54-A parts if you are going to work the blade hard. BTDT.

I will take picture tomorrow. Now I think I need all 4 pieces. When I bought the tractor it came with it. He was using a metal cable and a pulley on top of the piece on the right of pallet. Then attached to the HY. It works good but I want to put it back to original.

Re: Snow plow
You're likely in for a long and expensive search. Probably better off looking for a complete blade or find a friend with good metal fabricating skills.

Re: Snow plow
This is the blade you have. Would be easy to fab necessary parts. If not for show I would look for 54-A blade. I have owned both and the 54-A is a much improved blade.

Re: Snow plow
Torch, Your lift set up is a really good idea. It would create a problem for me though, I spent thousands of hours on a Farmall H where the hydraulics operate as pulling back was up, and forward is down which is the normal operation on most systems. Then 25 years ago I got my cub and now it is opposite, forward = up, and back = down. Then throw your blade in where it is opposite of that, would be to confusing for an old geezer like me.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
you are part of the problem!!!

Re: Snow plow
My 2 cents. I would leave the plow as it. Appears that it would function properly.John *.?-!.* cub owner wrote:Torch, Your lift set up is a really good idea.

Re: Snow plow
The cable obviously would eliminate using any down pressure but otherwise the orgiinal grader blade you have is fully functional. From what I understand the original is not as convienient as a 54 or 54A would be. So it really comes down to are you going to use it a lot, or just a little, or just for show? If using it a lot then look for a 54A, a little then as is, for show fabricate the parts. Whichever the choice the original grader blade is a little rarer in my opinion and worthy of keeping.

Re: Snow plow
What Scrivet said. It would not work for me because of no down pressure. I'm sure the measurements are here to fab the pieces for original. If doing any grading at all you will need down pressure.

I agree, You are used to it, no reason to change it, I was just mentioning it would confuse ME.Eugene wrote:My 2 cents. I would leave the plow as it. Appears that it would function properly.John *.?-!.* cub owner wrote:Torch, Your lift set up is a really good idea.

Re: Snow plow
The only problem with the cable set up, is you get no downward pressure, just the weight of the blade and frame.
I have a '48 and can give you the dementions of the rods and flat pivot arm if you like.
