White demonstrator original paint

Postby countershaft » Thu Jun 09, 2005 4:24 pm

Not counting scrapping "off" of the red coat of paint, where would you look to find some of the original white paint on a Farmall Cub( that would still be there) even after it was re-painted red ??? ???

Since cubs were painted assembled it migh be difficult. I believe fenders were added after painting, so it might be under them.

The under side of the hood and tank are often skipped on a repaint... maybe even the under side of the platform.

Serial number 100066

Postby Dave Hull » Sat Jun 11, 2005 8:03 pm

I just bought a little cub gem and when I drove home it struck me that the belt drive that came with it is white. Rest of tractor is Red and the belt drive was off the tractor. Seriel number is 100066. I will pick it up in a few weeks but as I put the seriel number and the paint on the belt gearbox togther, I got a little hyper. I would be interested in your expert advice as well.

Any other tell tale signs

YOU GOT A DEMO! The serial number is within the category. Now check some of the casting dates to verify it .
