In that case, I don't need any pictures. I doubt this will ever work. Maybe it has worked for someone and they can report accordingly.

Hey Jim,

I think you are right. I exhausted basically every setting possible. What is the actual difference between the L-F194 vs the 1-F194. I found this picture comparison of them both.

http://www.tm-tractor.com/gim/l-f194_-_1-f194_001.htm

I know the plow itself is bigger but what about the arm or boom? It appears to angle down and be the same size as the cub version. If this is the case it will never work. I would think the arm would be higher and straighter. What about a two way? Am I going to run into the same problem with that?

I have used a cub plow on my 140 no problem, do you have the depth rod in the correct hole on the bail, and is it in the correct hole in the rockshaft of the touch control? You are talking about a 140 or Super A , It has me confused as this is the cub forum.

Hey Boss,
Sorry for the misuse of forums. It's a super a. The link is connected to the bail through the bottom hole (there are two holes) and to the back hole of the front rock shaft.
Question, At the moment the plow is centered in the back of the tractor, I realize that it is supposed to be hugging the right tire but didn't think this would make a difference just trying to turn over some dirt to see if it worked. Am I mistaken?

Johnny,

Based on your pics, and your description of what is happening, I have two suggestions. #1. The heel on your landside needs to be adjusted upwards so that the bottom is even with the landside. Two bolts fasten the heel to the landside. You might even want to remove the heel completely. #2. This one is, speculation on my part, shorten the two rods that come from the rockshaft to the pullbar.

Do #1 first and see if it makes a difference before you try #2.

Good luck.

Bill

Thanks bill I'll give it a try. Shortening the the rods that come from the rockshaft to the pull bar is something I never would have even contemplated.

Johnny,

Not something that I would normally recommend, however, we are adapting a smaller plow to a tractor designed for a larger plow. Let us know how it works out.

The plow is not being raised up high enough either. Shortening the 2 lift arms will help with the plow setting low and tilt the point down too. On the draft bar there are 2 holes in the end that is at the bail, it needs to be in the first hole.

I agree with Bill too never will plow good with the heel like it is.

OK, weather permitting I'll give it a try tomorrow afternoon. I'll adjust the heel first and if it does not solve my issue but I notice progress I'll remove it and repeat. Then I'll go after the the down rods or lift links between the rock shaft and pull bar. Correct me if I'm wrong but the left side looks as if the only adjustment is through the leveling crank and the right side has a series of holes will allow me to pin it up higher.

OK, tried everything as ordered. Minor amount of progress but still not enough to do anything with. I went and borrowed a cub roll over plow and tried it in the same dirt with the same result however I was able to turn over fresh sod with the roll over plow in a different. I did not try the single bottom plow in the fresh sod. I also bought a generic stop collar from McMaster-Carr "set screw stop collar" was a 1" ID and appears to fit perfectly on the control arm for the fast hitch on the super a but haven't used it yet or put it on permanently.

Does anyone know if the 520 849 R21 beam is different than the one on the standard cub single bottom fast hitch plow which I believe is a 520 260 R21?

I don't know the part number, but this is a '140 style' plow. The obvious difference is the beam does not have a 'twist' in it like a Cub plow does. It also is has a bigger bottom than a Cub.

Hey Buzzard,

Thanks for the picture. Let me ask you this. Have you ever compared it side by side to a cub plow? Perhaps, what your showing me proves it (let me just clarify by twist you mean looking at the beam from the top and it sort of kicks over to one side looking like its bent from use?) but what I'm most curious about is when trying to plow with my cub plow on the super a it looks to me like the beam arches down to much towards the front where the prong fits into the socket which prohibits the front being able to angle down and that the overall height of the plow and assembly should be higher when sitting on the ground which would naturally give it the ability to go deeper. When I plow with the lo boy I am able to get more angle and depth than I could possible ever need. I searched the forum for conversations about the actual two different beams but nobody seems to say for sure that "yes it is different and this is why". I would think it would be bigger, straighter (the beam being more parallel to the ground instead of arching down) and with no twist.
