touch control stumper

I went to use my touch control yesterday and it would do nothing. I used the tractor extensively with a belly blade a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfectly. I washed it off and pulled it in the shed and parked it. The blade was in the up position. When I went out to use it yesterday moving the lever did nothing and all the linkages appear to still be connected. I even took my floor jack and put some upward pressure on the blade to relieve the pressure on the hydraulic system but it still would not work.I'm hoping it's a simple fix does anybody have any ideas?

SgtBull, the first thing I'd do is check the hydraulic fluid level. It's located on the left side of the hyd. block. Add the correct fluid. Other posters can tell you the kind and wgt.

If your fluid is low, and you don't have a puddle under the tractor, check your engine oil level. If it's high, you have a leaky hydraulic pump.

If low fluid is not the problem, remove the top allen plug where the line attaches to the unit and see if fluid comes out when the engine is running. If not the gear may have come off the pump. Note, that plug will be VERY tight.

Ditto to what John said about the gear. I had the same symptoms as you - worked one week, not the next. The gear had come adrift from the pump.

Talked to Sgtbull earlier, he added fluid and cycled to get air out and all was well.

Did he check his engine oil, for "overfilling?" Ed
