Can anyone tell me what size fastener attaches the side radiator cover to the bolster? I have tried every size I have on hand and nothing seems to thread correctly.

Use stainless 10 - 24 x 1/2"

Nice find for only $500! And you have a Woods brand mower,...Nice! I like the black accent paint job. Gives it a Darth Vader look , and won't show oil leaks.
That bracket should have an Analog "clock" type hour meter like this one:



and was mounted near the left brake pedal, but many put them on the steering wheel column.

Keep that bracket, don't pitch it. You will need the rubber mount "donut" that acts like a shock absorber.
If you can't find a "clock" type, buy a modern round hobbs meter, the mounting holes are still the same.

Thanks Red. I do have the hour meter. I tested it with the battery, and it still works. I removed the old wiring from the back, so I can make some new wires for it. I also cleaned up that bracket to reinstall. I ordered a new rubber mount for it from Ebay thanks to some help from Jgeremino. What I find a little funny, is every time I see a picture of one of these meters on a cub, it's mounted a different way.

Something else I noticed. In an effort to test the oil switch that powers the hour meter, I hooked up an LED light to it to see if it would power on when the engine was running. It does power on, but it flickers on and off. Is this typical or is that switch faulty? I was wondering if this was normal since the circuit is completed by oil circulation.

Glad you have the meter. Should be on steady. Add some RPM, to see if that makes light stay on steady. You might have been right at the threshold of the low end of the pressure switch causing it to go on/off as pressure slightly surges. Or perhaps, hmmm, the voltage was to low for the LED at idle ??? and as the regulator open closed voltage dipped low enough to not power the LED? ( electric guys, is that right??)

I'd think about replacing switch, you don't need a hobbs meter that stops at idle and runs at "above" idle.

PS: speaking of different places to mount a hobbs meter...

Always thought mounting by the left brake pedal would cause it to become a "kick item" with boots on.
