Cub Single Point Platform

Postby Cecil » Mon Jun 06, 2005 8:10 pm

Guys,
I finished the restoration of the 53 tonight. Had to hook up the lights and add a pin to the fast hitch. Problem. There is a show this weekend and I want to take the Cub with the platform. I need all the info I can get on the platform. I just can not find a manual for it. I know nothing to it but would like to at least get the lumber dimensions correct. Also does anyone know where to get decals for it?

Will take pictures and post them soon.

Cecil:

I did a search as I knew all this stuff was in a thread somewhere. Found it :!: :D

Here is the thread by Arizona Mike : Carry All

There is a fair amount of info there including dimensions. Also if you go to the Cub Manual Server, and then check out Platform Carriers in the CBI-2A.

Hope this helps. Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate an Owner's Manual for the Carry All yet. :(

Good to hear the words "finished the restoration tonight", hurrah, another Cub saved, well done.
Did Mr Macormick ever make a platform carrier for a non fast hitch, that is assuming from the pics that this is fitted to a fast hitch???
That is one of the little missing part for our cubs to cart logs, buckets etc around.

IH didn't make one before the Fast-Hitch was introduced. An aftermarket company did. I have never seen one.

Would sure be nice to get some measurements and such. Be a real nice project. I know I could use one. Now that I have seen the brochure, maybe I can figure it out. Gee, another project.

Yes OK, would that depend on Hydro for lift, the pics are not too clear? I suppose to stop people like us having too big ideas of making our own and not buying their model.

Even without lift, a platform at a set height would be very useful, if anyone has ideas great.

without hydro I cant see a way of hitching the top apart from the back rockarm.

My uncle made a fixed carrier for his Super A. A pair of 4x4s were set lengthwise over the drawbar and anchored to the cross bar of the swinging drawbar. Some more lumber crosswise made a deck. A couple more pieces were attached vertically to hold some headboards.

You should be able to use your imagination to come up with something similar. You may need to play with the drawbar height to get what you want. You may want to be careful about which side up the crossbar is mounted.

I don't really have a need for one, since the golf cart with the cargo box is so handy, but I had this idea:

The drawbar attachment designed to pull a disk would make it possible to use a regular drawbar much like the fast hitch design if the drawbar is allowed to float. In that case, the rear rockshaft connected by a chain would provide modest dump ability.

I don't have a picture of the attachment, but I'm sure someone does.
