Fenders in the Way

My rear rockshaft bar rubs against my left fender when it's operating and my depth lever for the 193 plow rubs against the outside edge of the right fender when moved.

Apart from bending the fenders (or offenders, in this case), do you have any advice for creating more clearance between each?

Thanks.

You either have to form the fenders or the rod to make the clearance. Your fenders may be bent in a bit too far or the rod has been bent at sometime in it's life.

Either bend in or bend out to make work without rubbing.

Is your rockshaft standard or a converted rockshaft. The converted one is a closer fit to the fender. As has been stated, make sure the rod does not have a sideways bow to it. As to the depth control, most of them rub unless either the lever is bent to ward the tire some or the fender is bent inward some.

My rockshaft used to be manual, lift spring-assist, now cut/converted to be used with a T/C unit. The rod itself has the offset "kink" in it.

The rod is pretty stout, so probably will have to bend the fender away from the rockshaft. Ditto on bending the fender away from the depth lever. Of course, those fenders are like me---they resist change. :)

Thanks for replying with your opinions.

I'll bring my big hammer. We'll have that fender moved out of the way before they draw for the first door prize. :D

On the depth lever rubbing: some folks operate their plows with tires set at less than 40 inches. Depth lever will rub against tires. Then the lever usually gets bent away from tire toward fender. Make sure your width is at 40 and bend lever away from fender. That is assuming your fender is in correct order
