I am taking apart a cub to paint it.
Also i wanted to fit knew brakes.
Problem is the Left and Wright brake are fitted not the same way.
The bracket that holds the brake shoe can be fitted either way, and they are not fitted the same left and wright.
Is there a picture of this in the manuals ? I have looked and did not find it.

It is possible that your tractor has had one of the final drives replaced including the brake. Cub brakes are two styles. While the later style is much better, in my opinion, for a particular tractor, the better arrangement is for them to be identical on both sides. The two styles are easily distinguishable visually. Look at the parts catalog links on this site.

As Driver said, one of the final drives must have been swapped out. There are two different styles of brakes as shown here.

Hi,

Sorry for the late repley, other stuff to do now back on the whright track.
Part 21 on the lower drawing lookes like the piece i have both left and wright however they are fitted diferent left and wright.
So witch is the correct way ? part 21 can be fitted either way, is searched the pdf files on the site however i did not found a drawing i could use.
I tried to fit one brake and with the new brake i can only turn the wheel hub (without the weel) with a wrench is this normal ? Do this type of brakes need running in ?

Now I don't want to get excommunicated from the forum - but the Wet Disk Hydraulic Brakes on my Green Tractor are amazing. Now I'll ask you ALL to cut me some slack. I've been in NJ all week on business....Forgive me - if you can? :big smile:
