Reading your story brought back many fond memories of growing up in Timmins back in the 50's and 60's. I used to visit the train station whenever we went up town, and even when Ontario Northland took it over, it was still interesting to watch the hustle and bustle of a busy gold mining town's train station. It was a lot of fun.
My Grandparents lived out in Keyson, a whistle stop from way back when. Their house was right across the road from the tracks and down the road about a 1/2 mile from the station.
I used to love watching the trains while standing on my Grandparents couch looking out the living room window. (yes, I was really young then). I always loved the little track cars with a window just like a jeep running up and down the tracks checking for damage and FOD's.
I really am looking forward to when you get the Lo-Boy finished and all done up in the CN livery. Glad you were able to find a baggage wagon... might have 2 Wow
Again, really good story. So real not only could I picture it, I could smell it
