Hydraulic Cylinder

Hi again folks......

so I have a hydraulic leak coming from under the cylinder unit.
I want to replace all the gaskets including the side fitting connects the tubes to the pump.
I have everything apart accept the side fitting. There are three bolts and two set screws. I took the three bolts off but can't remove the set screws as the PO painted them on.
do the set screws need to be removed to take that fitting off?
If so can I heat the set screws to break them loose, or do you have other suggestions?

No need to remove the Allen head screws.

I'm guessing this too is painted on and likely needs a bit of prime evil whooping-on to get off.
Do those set screws hold the tubes in place?

no

Sometimes the parts book is handy to visualize what is going on. TC37F

The set screws do not hold anything on, they seal up test ports. If they were not leaking, I would not try to remove them.

Once you have the three bolts out, you may have to take a thin paint scraper and a hammer to free the tubes from the side of the touch control. I did. Hammer gently to start, then increase as necessary - you don't want to scratch the sealing surface.

I just saw this, .. late again  another Eeyore moment.

Those Allen head screws are for test equipment or for those of us who like to know how much pressure is going on .. for a permanent gauge setup. They do not need to come out. They are not hard to take out though once the paint seal has been broken.

A scraper would work, but a better idea might be to use a block of wood or a wooden dowel and tap with a hammer lightly. The manifold block will pop off rather easily .. just got to overcome the suction from the gasket.

That did it.
Boy was the fluid in there dirty!
Got it all tore down. Now for new o-rings and gaskets and that should take care of the leak....I hope.

How is the shaft? Hope it isn't pitted.

The shaft looks pretty smooth as does the control valve.
Questions.
1. Do you guys recommend any type of "dressing" or "goop" on the gaskets when I reassemble?
2. How many "O" rings should there be? I see one on the control valve, one on the main shaft and one on the cross shaft thingy. Any others?

I haven't been able to find a parts diagram in the Manuals section. Can someone point me there?

thanks

Suggest you get a kit from TM Tractors or a dealer if you're fortunate enough to have one near by.

Thanks Art, just what I was looking for
Already have the kit from TM.

The o-rings feel pretty good, so I might leave them be and assemble it with the new gaskets.

Thoughts?

If it was mine I would replace them since it's already apart.

So I printed out the link Art sent and clearly my unit is different.
It would appear as though the unit I have does not have nearly as many parts.
It's a 354283R3 (pix attached)
The pressure regulator valve just has a piston with what appears as a ball/seat valve and does not appear to come out.
Where the Check valve assembly should go there is just an elongated bolt with nothing to remove.
The safety valve is just a sleeve with a spring.
Is this all there is to it?

Thanks Bob,

I have not been able to remove some of those inner cylinders.
Any suggestions?
