Need Part Number!!

Postby Galla Creek Arky » Thu May 26, 2005 9:27 pm

Does anyone know the NAPA part number for the seal between
the final drive and the differential on a 1957 Cub? Or the part number
for any brand grease seal.

Also, I drained the fluid or grease from the differential. It was coffee
creamer color. What kind of fluid or grease and how much goes back
in the differential?

I have a 1957 Farmall Cub I am restoring.
I have a 1973 Farmall Cub that I use for mowing and 1974 Farmall Cub for gardening.

Several cross over numbers are listed in the Cub FAQ, question 7 at http://www.antique-tractor.com/CubFAQ/cub_faq.html.

Your oil looks that way because of water mixed into it. Original oil was Hy-Tran. You may prefer to change to 90 gear oil. Fill it up to the level plug on the right side, near the front.
