Cub Power Unit/Combine Engine in Action!

A good friend of mine in our IH Collectors Club came and video'ed my 1950 52R combine with Cub engine running in the field last week. Pulling it with Old Ugly. You also see a #10 IH Auger Wagon and my pretty 1948 Super A, IH Collectors Chapter 37 Tractor of the Year 2013!

He did a good job editing. The carb picked up some trash and we had some trouble keeping it running after it had harvested a while. I finally whacked the carb with a hammer and it cleared right up.... :D

Enjoy...
Al

That's a fun video! Boy, those "GoPro" cameras are just awesome, aren't they? My brother does motorcycle rides and films them with a chest-mounted GoPro... I kinda want one now!

Love the old iron!

I believe Matt said he had some more video to edit and post, so may see more footage later! If the weather holds up and I can catch-up (been out of town since Tuesday for state FFA convention) I might try to pick some more wheat and get some still shots .

Like the video thanks for posting. We've actually got one of those units at the farm. I don't believe it has an F60 engine on it however. Our unit you have to sit on it and tie bags. It was great fun as a kid to run that machine.

Took me down memory lane - thanks again.

That was a very interesting video. I'd love to have seen how he got some of those shots! Was it a "camera on a stick?" Looks like he could have earned the nickname "stumpy" videoing some of those shots!

Yes he had a camera mounted on the rear of the tractor and he had another one on a long pole to get the up-close shots. Pretty cool.

3:10-3:40 watch the left side of the frame about halfway up, at times blends right in and looks like part of the combine

Very, very well done Al! I guess you put the youths to work getting all the angles.

Thanks for sharing it!

Larry, all I did was drive! Fortunately I am a natural and didn't require much direction.... :D

The cameraman owns a solid yellow Lo-Boy, but I let him film anyway. If it was yellow and white, I am not so sure......

That was a multi-camera shoot... You could see the pole camera in some of the ground shots, and you could see the guy taking ground shots from the tractor-mounted camera.
