Not on the 52R, can't speak for the early 64's that replaced the 52R. The unloading auger, if it had one, was driven off the rear of the combine's main gearbox.

As far as I can tell there's no difference in the crankshaft pulley between the combine engine and the regular tractor engine.

The reason I mentioned it is that when I discovered the loader cub had a broken engine ear, Bill replaced it with a power unit engine, but it had a crankshaft pulley with 2 grooves. When I mentioned it on another forum I was told that the second groove ran the unloader on a combine. don't remember if he said 52R, or a different model. When Bill brought me the engine he told me he wanted that pulley back, so I later removed it and returned it to him.

Might've been a 64. The engine was turned cross-ways on them. It is definatley not a 52R. Everything drives from the reduction gear on the rear of the power unit.

EDIT: after thinking about it, IIRC everything ran off the clutch end of the 64 combine. That double groove pulley must've been for something else.

When I get down to the shed a little later today I will get the engine serial number, maybe Jim Becker or someone else will have info as to what it was used on.

Serial number on my engine is IMCUBM 16443. I was wondering if the 2nd groove on the pulley may have been determined by whether the combine was equipped with a sacker versus a bulk bin rather than year or model.

The number we need would have been on the power unit itself. Jim, if one was built in '52 that would be right for a #64 combine, but I still don't think the double sheave would have driven the unloader.

I used to have a #64 manual but who knows where it is.....

Various models were used on pull behind combines, hay balers etc. They were also used as stand alone engines for bus saws, hammer mills and so on.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

The 52HT means it came from a 52R harvester-thresher (combine).
