here's an update.

I measured my '50 cub and found:

The side channels are 13 1/2" vs. 13 5/8" on my '71.
The '50 cub's radiator is 13 3/4" from the base to the bottom of the top tank - same as the '71.

I got a quote on re-coring the old radiator but it was cost prohibitive.

I e-mailed Clancy Radiators in Ireland and they were very helpful. They offered to build a radiator to the 13 3/4" dimension. (It was not cheap due to shipping). They completed it very quickly and it is ready to ship.

More to come after the radiator shows up.

Received new Clancy radiator that was fabricated to the 13 3/4" spec. Installed and fit perfectly.

Wow - That's pretty darn good of Clancy to do all that, kind of amazing actually. It seem most places would tell you, "Sorry, we can't help you.", "Sorry for your luck.". Kinda refreshing - too bad we have to go to Ireland to get that kind of service from a manufacturer.

This is a Clancy radiator in my 49 f-cub and it is a bit short but not an issue with getting the cap on. The tank barely cleared the radiator supports. The only problem I had was fitting the fan shroud back in because the hose inlet was lower than on the original radiator as well. I had to force fit the shroud but it worked out.

Were there any Cubs that use the 13 1/2" spec? Maybe Clancy needs to rethink what size they produce.
