1948 Farmall Cub restoration rookie seeking answers

Looking to restore this tractor for my 84 yr old father-in-law and could use some guidance and encouragement. This is a lot different that race cars and motorcycles. First, can someone tell me if these tractors originally sold with the metal badge or a sticker?

The answer to that is "Yes". Both, depending on year.

1947-1954 were stickers. "55 and later, till the square front cubs, were the metal emblems. Then back to decals.

If you are talking about the emblem on the nose of the tractor (hood), its a sticker.

Edit: not sure what happened to your other post that I answered to, but my reply was to the 1948 tractor you inquired about in that thread.

Yes you can. Suggest you follow the links below, read the manuals - Owner's, Service and Parts catalogs. These will help you. Find the serial number to determine the year ..again that can be found on the main page of the manual server. Congrat and have a lot of fun.
