Pulling to right with disc

Postby Johnny Lindqvist » Sat Apr 27, 2013 7:57 pm

I was using my fast hitch disc today on two different fields and I had the gangs positioned in the most aggressive setting. The tractor kept pulling to the right. It wasn't enough to say it was consistent but it was aggravating and I wasn't gonna ride the brake. The disc looked nice and level and the angles looked consistent to each other atleast to they eye. I messed with the adjustment lowering and raising the left side but it didn't seem to make to much difference. Is there anything else I should be looking at? By the way does anyone know of any fast hitch tractors up in my area (New England) that are available for a good price? I need to designate one for the lawn and one for the field. Switching the woods belly mount off and on is gonna suck.

Check the bail where the point goes in. Yours may be too far to the right. Also there is adjustment on the front of the bail, 3 holes. Make sure the bail is straight back with the tractor. Slightly on an angle to either side will cause the disc to pull you one way or the other.

Is the front and back of the drawbar in the correct position to be centered? Never had that problem with mine.

That was my first thought. The pull bar should be pinned in the leftmost hole of the bail.

OK, forgive me. But the by pull bar you mean the bar underneath where the bail attaches? I have mine in the center whole it looks close to center but not perfect. If I put it in the leftmost hole it appears from looking at it that I would be more off center but perhaps that is the problem. It's only like that when I'm using it in the most aggressive setting. I never noticed it last year and I didn't change anything.

What I call the bail is the part the point slides into. You have a setting on the back and front of that piece. Three close holes on the front, and three(I think) holes on the rear with wider adjustments. You need to look at the front adjustable part also as well as the rear to get it parallel to the tractor.

The bail is the "U" shaped piece that goes from one final to the other. The bar with latch would be the drawbar, I think.

The leftmost hole in the bail (U-shaped round bar) is centered.

Part 5 or 6 is the bail. 14 is the pull bar. The bracket (11) between them needs to be pinned (7) in the leftmost hole of the bail. It is at the center of the bail.

Awesome thanks! I will try to make the proper adjustments. I know, I know I have to get my terminology down.
