I bought a cub this past summer and unfortunately the serial number plate was removed. I believe that the cub is between a '56 or '57 based off the paint scheme that I researched from TM Tractor. The casting numbers that I retrieved from the cub are: Engine Block 5-18-A P/N 251341R7, and the Touch Control 3-30-A P/N 360719R1. Please add these to your database if helpful and if there is anyone out there that offer more clues as to the year and possibly serial number I would really appreciate it.

The casting code A would be 1955. The 55 would have been entirely red. The white grill and white hood panel appeared in late 1956. You could also verify the year with the engine serial number. This number is stamped on the block. It is behind the dipstick tube, just below the valve cover. There is a picture of the location on the TM website. On both of my Cubs, I had to scrape some paint off to find the engine serial number.

Did we get the info for you off my junk-man cub? Also, what about your newest purchase?

The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Museum in NY is still using a cub to move airplanes around and cut grass. I was up there last fall and copied down the serial number but almost forgot about it.
