Raymond - Here's one more for Serial #21005

Axle Extension 8 7 Q

The head - clearly does not have a casting number - Now that it's been sand blasted you can see where the one side of it was supposed to be. Must have been a sand mold failure on mine.

Thanks for the effort it takes to do this.

Thanks Ken, got it updated!

Dale Finch wrote:Raymond, a neighbor (Hank Reeves) has a cub, and today I stopped by to collect his numbers. Some were difficult and I couldn't get to the head:

ENGINE:
?CUBM 2408 MCUBM 20487 That's about all I can make out...sorry
251341R6
11-16-W

Thanks Dale! Could you have another look at the Engine SN when you get a chance? Its not an original engine, possibly out of a U-1 power unit. See if you can make out the digit just before "CUBM". Look for either a "U" or "IM".
Thanks!

Here is another cub for the database:
1950 Farmall Cub
Not running - basket case purchased in Dunnellon FL April 2013
SN 105430 (demo range - some white paint found in crevices under red)

Ron

Thanks for the input Ron! I would be highly surprised if your tractor turned out to be a Demo. Even though its in the "accepted range", all the other tractors around yours have been reported to be red originally. If you could take some photos under the hood and behind the dash, or of any of the white areas you may be seeing, that'd be great!

Thanks Stan. Next time you are able, if you could get the engine Cast Code and PN from under the carb, and SN that is under the tappet cover, that'd be great!

Thanks Paul, if you could get a few more numbers off the engine block, that'd be great. The PN, Casting Code and engine SN would be best, and aren't too difficult to see.
Thanks!

OK Raymond, I had better get these sent in, Bob helped me get them at the Bash and is probably wondering when I was going to submit them. :D

'51 Cub
Serial # 142635
Engine 9 27 W (also has "SPECIAL" cast, upside down in the block... so far no one can tell me what this is/means)
Touch Control 8 29 W
Tranny 1 7 X (Iknow it was replaced, came from Ralph's "Flamey"!)
Left Final 7 19 S (I know this was also replaced, as was Right Final, but we couldn't see the code)
Torque Tube ? ? W (couldn't make out the #'s)
Sorry, all we could make out

'55 LoBoy
Serial # 897
Engine 7 27 A
Touch Control 6 30 A
Transmission 7 1 A
Right Final 7 26 A
Left Final 7 26 A
Torque Tube 7 4 A
So, it looks like my early LoBoy was assembled with parts that were all cast within about a month!

Thanks!

Thanks David, I'll get them added!
Could you post a pic of the "special" casting, and post or PM me the engine SN and PN? Might lead us to what the casting means.
Towards the end of 1951, from Sept to Jan of 1952, the block PN changed from R4 to R6, with R5 being used looks like less than a month. I don't now what the changes were, but it look like yours falls at the end of the R5's, beginning of the R6's, so that may have something to do with the special casting.

Raymond,

Here are some numbers off the Fcub I got yesterday.

1950
s/n 109294
Engine s/n 110939
Torque Tube 4 25 T 351686 R1
Engine Block 4 24 T 251341 R2

I got some numbers off my '48 but I didn't put them in this thread? I will get the s/n and check with you to see what numbers you have for it, if any. I would like to have it represented kin the database as well.
