Hi folks, hoping ya'll will share your thoughts on the where to purchase best quality restoration quality battery and tool box for my Cub. I've noticed you can by them Made in USA complete (with light bracket) and you can buy just the box, but can't tell if it's complete - as in does it have have the rear mount or the rubber parts in th lid?

I'd like best authentic boxes available. So far this appears to be from FarmallCubForever.Com - it's made in the USA and is fully complete. Steiner Tractor Parts seems second, but it does not show if has the rubber or not - I have emailed them.

Your :help: in this supplier selection process will be gladly accepted.

Best regards,

I'll second Peter on this one! Norm makes some very nice stuff! However, they will not have the rubber inserts in the lid. Give Norm a buzz, he's a great guy. A lot of forum members are very happy with his boxes.

I bought a couple at RPRU from pilot knob 815 777-0826 US made complete with light bracket and wire clip. They are made just like the original and are made of a heavy gauge steel. They were $105 each.

I would tend to agree with Don and Peter. I haven't seen a better box than Norm's. I had a dozen specially built for me - all with 14 gauge sand kote. I am down to my last 2. When not if, I need some more, I will be ordering mine from Norm. His are top-notch and as good as the ones I had made, I haven't seen any that even come close except the boxes that TM had custom made for a while.

Wow, thanks all - lots of great information as usual. I'll review all the options and then get it ordered. As you can probably all understand - I'm anxious to see something NEW and RED.

Thanks again, :D

Make sure you find out what guage steel is used in each. It doesn't take much of a thickness change to make the cheaper box become an unreliable box.

Does anyone know how much Norm's battery and toolboxes are?

Ya'll are awesome - so much food for thought - like a buffet of knowledge - which salad bar does one choose from?

Don't know Norm's current price but give him a call and ask. Ask what guage steel he uses while you're at it. I believe his are heavier gauge than the others.

Mine also came from Pilot Knob Restorations. It is so well made that my original top fit the new box, perfectly. Heavy gauge......14 I believe.
