New Question about Brakes!

Postby Galla Creek Arky » Tue May 10, 2005 5:02 pm

My brake on the left side, which is the short side, has grease on it.
How big is this job going to be. I am a good listener.

thanks.

I have a 1973 Farmall Cub that I use for mowing and 1974 Farmall Cub for gardening.

Unfortunately, in order to get to it, you will need to remove the final drive housing. Not particularly difficult, just kind of heavy to handle. Once you have it off, you can clean the brake band using a torch to burn off the excess oil. Then replace the seals and check the fluid levels to prevent a recurrance.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
