touch control insert

Postby Kodiak » Mon May 09, 2005 8:03 pm

Any ideas on where to find a new insert and thumb screw? Thumb screw broke off and insert split when I tried a easy-out on the screw.

Thanks
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

They are called stops, and are available from http://www.jptractorsalvage.com, http://www.tmtractor.com, and regularly on ebay.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Thanks John, but the stop isn't broken it's the threaded insert that split when I attempted to get the broken thumb screw out.
I'll check this evening and see if I can find them at TM's or JP's

Try a hardware store. A knurled brass nut may fit or be made to fit.

Good Luck.

Thanks Jim, I hadn't thought about that but that sounds like it just might fix the problem.
