"Grading" Snow!!!!

Well, there's always discussion about how and what to do with snow, and what a Cub can or can't do, so the boys and I were out playing in the snow today, and I decided just to see what we could do with the cub and about a foot of snow.

So, here you go. No weights... no chains.... blade mounted in the belly position.... no snow blade extension.... Actually did a pretty good job! Now, I know there was no ice, and I was just playing around. But still. The Cub can handle quite a bit of snow.

Looks good Bill, My Cub slips with out weights but yours seemed to do fine.

There is hazard in useing the grader blade in snow. If the snow is wet, the blades load will instantly freeze when you stop.
Then, when you try to back up, the front wheels are trapped in front of the pile.

Yea, I know it's not a perfect scenario, and actually, I would not actually "Plow" snow with this setup. I was more impressed that when the blade is setup properly, the snow really rolls right off. I was only plowing in 1st gear, and the blade was not completely on the ground, up maybe an inch or two, but it was doing a great job. Once I saw how nicely it was rolling snow off to the side, I asked my son to take the quick video to share. However, I can tell you that if you had open area where you could fan out and turn around (like at the end of a driveway), the blade in the grader position works VERY nicely. If you have to stop and backup, it packs up the front wheels pretty good.
