12 volt conversion
I have a 52 cub and want to change it to 12 volt. Where do I start?

If you fix the 6 volt system you have, it will last another 50 years or so as long as you maintain it. But, it you want to convert to 12 volts go here for a good start:

I agree with Bigdog, but if you still want to do it, you will need either a genrator and regulator or an alternator, a 12 volt coil ro an esternal balast resitor, and new bulbs for the head lights. Starter should be ok as long as you limit how long at a time you crank it.

Why convert to 12?
The secret to 6 volts is a GOOD GROUND.
I have 7 IH trucks with 6 volt and they all start great and they have 90 HP motors not 8HP like a Cub.

30 + tractors including 2 French Super Cubs, French Cubs, 1963 Industrial Cub, 1955 Cub Highcrop etc...German and French built IH tractors and some bigger IH tractors. Of course I have about 20 IH trucks and an IH refridge in the Shop.
