Depth Control Lever

Postby Donny M » Fri Apr 29, 2005 10:47 am

Anyone have a picture of a straight detent rod for the depth control lever. The rod I have is bent in several wrong places. Also, the bends for the detent itself, are they supposed to be at 90˚ or slightly off?

Thanks,

Donny 8)

Hey Donny, are you talking about the lift rod on the armstrong :?: :?:

How straight? My whole lever is bent.

Donny, assuming you are talking aobut the rod that locks the dpeth lever in place at each notch, mine is straight with a 90 degree bend at each end.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Yes John that is exactly what I'm talking about. The bend at the top (near the spring is 90˚). There are two bends at the bottom. Are these both supposed to be 90˚? One of mine (closest to the top or middle bend) is slightly less than 90˚.

Haven't posted a picture in a while so this ought to clear things up.

Should the bottom bend be at 90?

Donny: The two bends at the bottom of mine are images of yours. I think that they were not 90 degree bends when new. Mine works well so I assume the bends are correct. Dan

Donny, I just checked mine too and it is the same. I doubt that rod could take 2 90's that close together without severely weakening it.
