Hello, I fired up the cub inside the shed a couple of days ago.
It started fine , it was cool outside but not freezing. after a while I noticed
a small amount of vapor coming from the oil dipstick vent . Is this normal ?
I have never noticed it before. My cub usually has a very light white smoke from the exhaust pipe
until warm then it clears up. Seems to run fine otherwise.

Yup, condensation inside the block is evaporating off. Let it run till it gets good and warm, it should stop.

This time of year when you can get temperature swings of 30 or 40 degrees or more within a day or two will cause more condensation than usual.

The venting condensate is more likely to be noticed when it is cold outside.

If the symptoms remain from the oil filler tube, you may have a partially blocked breather tube which runs from the air cleaner body to the front of the engine block. Remove, clean out with compressed air, and reinstall.
