Hi,
Yes, I have seen them listed in Raymond Durban's database. I know there are some, wasn't trying to say there aren't any, just put IH's info here so people could see what info the parts manual does have. :)

There is a red 1964 on the Eastern NC Craigslist with white hood. FYI in case you want to grab the number off that one.

Hood and rear wheel centers look to have original white paint. Tractor is definitely not original red.

Intresting to see they didn't want to repaint the white parts. Hopefully Boss is on top of this and has seen these tractors.

I have a 1964 12 volt red square front with white tank Farmall cub. Serial #224403 J. I am 100% certain that it was orinally red with white tank, white front wheels and white rear hubs.

I have a 1964 12 volt red Farmall cub with white hood, serial 224403. I came across this thread ( iknow this thread is years old) because I am going to repaint it (Rust getting very bad) and wanted to make sure I had the proper color scheme, especially for the rear rims (Silver or red, I can't tell... all rusted out now)

The tractor is original factory paint. The body is red, the tank is white, the front headlights and front headlight posts are white, (since it only came with one original headlight, I bought two red aftermarket ones to put on the tractor )The rear light is white, the grill is white, but the grill holder is red. The front wheel hubs are white, and I’m going to assume that the front rims were also white but they are badly rusted. The rear wheel hubs are white, but I can’t tell what the rear rims original color was… again badly rusted. I’m going to assume silver. The only anomaly on my tractor is that the air intake cap is red and looks to be completely original to the tractor. I have a 65 international cub, basically same color scheme as the 64 except for yellow, and the air intake cap on that one is definitely white

Scott,
That S/N makes it the 3rd one in-line.
Per the Database that Raymond put together, the 1st 12V Farmall Cub was 224401.

I think Barnyard is maintaining the Database so it would be good to add this one to it.

Go any photos?

Hi Scott,

Larry Davis aka Buzzard Wing has one, maybe he will chime in regarding the colors.

I used this paint database to buy paint for several tractors of various years I am painting or painted recently.

Am friend of mine in Westport is painting one of his late models red and white like the 64 because they look the best.

If you go back to June 2015 in this post you will see mine. It's had a cushy life and likely was always stored under cover. Even the tires are original (Good Year with diamonds in a circle).

Having painted two Cubs, I will say it's overrated. Especially for the amount of work and cost involved. (Unless you are retired and have a nice heated shop). Sometime before 1964 they started priming the castings and if I recall the sheet metal. You should be able to get the paint from a dealer (Messicks in PA) the white is the same for both, a slightly grayish white. Their 'rattle can' paint is (was) quality stuff. The rear rims are silver or galvanized.

From where I sit, looks like a 6V headlight (1 wire) and custom shifter. (Lo Boy snowplow?) The 12 V headlights have 2 wires and plug that must be removed before taking the hood off as the plug won't fit through the hole in the hood. The rear light is 3 wires, it has a red running light and a white work light. Not sure the vintage of your other Cub but there is a quirky thing about the early square nose Cubs, they have a bit of a peak at the hood ornament and a slightly taller neck on the radiator. Seems the red and white ones I have seen had a deluxe seat and maybe a fast hitch???

Thanks Larry for the pic of your white top farm all. So yours had original silver rear rims? I really can’t tell what mine were.. all rust now. I need to paint the hoods, the grilles, and the fenders on both (they are rusting to the point of compromising the integrity of the metal.) I already painted the battery boxes and operators platforms on both since that picture was taken.

That “custom shifter “ on mine is just a pipe over the shifter rod minus the rubber shift knob. It was there when I bought the tractor in 1992, and it works incredibly well to shift from 1 to r when I plow. The headlights are the standard aftermarket 12 volt lights for Cubs. I do have just one of the white original front 2 wire lights for the tractor. I have the original rear light which works with both bulbs. The front plow I picked up in Lancaster PA in trade for the rear double field plow that was on the red one when I bought it, and i believe is designed for a standard cub, but may also work with a low-boy.
The yellow cub is a 65. Everything works on both my Cubs.

When I bought them in 1992 from the previous owner of the property I now live on (a guy in his 70s who was born there) he told me that the red ‘64 was the best of the three Cubs he owned. (He also had a ‘58 cub with a sickle bar that I didn’t buy) Since they all were virtually identical mechanically, I couldn’t understand why one would be “better”. But in the last 29 years of owning the two, the red 64 is better. It’s a beast. Never never never fails to start, runs like a top, tough as nails, would probably run on kerosene... I imagine other multi-cub owners on this forum may have one cub which is better...
