I believe it's an actual dealership but I do not believe the pics.

The Cub on the pylon was at Crim Truck and Tractor in Henderson TX. The building was torn down only a few years ago. I snooped inside the derelict building one day and found it it be in pretty bad shape. Based on what I could see from below, I don't think I would have wanted to walk on the roof. The story I heard was that the Cub had been in a barn fire. They decided to repaint it, put on new tires and stick it on the pylon. It was evidently a very early tractor and fairly new when it burned.

Note the side of the pylon in the second picture. The illuminated IH sign has been removed and you can see the remains of a painted-on IH logo. Many of the pylons started out with a painted logo. Removing the Cub from the pylon looked like a bit of a challenge to me. The worst part may have been the fact that there were electrical wires running everywhere near the tractor. Older Google earth pictures showed the building. Google now shows a new building on the site.

The first pic shows it with no engine and narrow front axle. The second pic looks like the tires are hanging on the edge. If the pics are real they were only a stunt.

The tractor has no hydraulic system. In the first picture, the engine and the front axle are both obscured by the ladder. Look more closely. I have seen it first hand. I can assure you that the tractor was actually on the pylon and was up there for years (actually decades).

It almost appears the tractor was "field stripped" to lighten the load for the sign shop capacity crane before it was lifted off the building.

I guess then you don't believe there's a 1466 International on top of the sign at Worthington Ag Parts in Goldsboro, NC either......

Jim your comments about the remnants of the painted-on IH emblem remind me of the old IH dealer in Jacksonville, NC. It wasn't a "real" prototype but it was built to look like one---has a lot of glass in the front and a pylon just like the prototypes. Anyway today it's a body shop but you can still see the remains of the IH emblem painted on the pylon.

I guess everything IS bigger in Texas. Those pylons never looked that wide to me.

If the drive tires were hanging over the edge on both sides, that would leave about 30" in pylon width.

I jut talked to Sam, he did verify that is was Crim Truck and Tractor as Jim stated previously. He removed the signs and the Cub on May 8th, 2002. I only posted the pics because of the signs similarity to Mr. Boss Hoggs.

The buildings typically had a door right next to the base of the pylon. I don't think the pylons were all the same, but if you look at pictures of the buildings, the width of the pylons typically are wider than a single door. So 3 to 4 feet wide is about right. It looks like the rear tires of the Cub on the pylon were set to 44". They are clearly wider than the pylon.
