Mower ID ?

Postby jmh » Sun Apr 24, 2005 8:05 pm

When I found my 51 Cub it had a belly mower attached. Now that I have nearly finished restoring this fine machine, I started looking at the mower. It is made by E.L.Caldwell & Son. , made in Corpus Cristi, Tx. Model B60, Serial #21. It has a drive shaft going to the gear box with two short drive belts on the rear end.

Has anyone had or seen one like this?

I also bought a Kub-Klipper this morning for $150. It uses a long, looping belt to drive the gearbox.

Need ideas or advice on which to use. Thanks, jmh

Don't know about the Caldwell mower but most parts are still available for the Klipper. Look them over and whichever one looks the most mechanically sound would get my vote.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

I have just completed putting a Kub-Klipper into working condition. I have used it a couple of times, perhaps four or five hours total, and am really pleased with it. Dan
