serial tag

Postby cherokeewarrior » Fri Apr 22, 2005 8:52 am

I've recently got my 63 running and am contemplating a full resto on it .My question is this?Does anyone have a pic of a completed 63 serial # tag, mine was ruined during a previous cheesy repaint ,when it was not masked off.About the only thing still legible is the serial # itself and I believe a J stamped in the corner.I want to order a new one but I'm not sure which one it is or what all needs to be stamped on it.

Pat:

The Cub Manual Server has this information under a couple of links.

Specialty Services and under US Specialty Suppliers you will find Serial Number Plates. Also under New Parts Suppliers and again under US Suppliers you will find OEM and others who supply aftermarket parts for us Cub-a-holics

As I may have mentioned before, I am always looking for new leads and new suppliers to add to the Server list. I am also hoping that as our Cub friends find suppliers that they like and trust, they will send me the info or post it so I can add it to the server. European Suppliers would be a nice NEW category as well

Rudi,
Thanks for the info, I'll see what I can find, but perhaps French tags will be out of their range. Ill also let you know should we come across friendly European suppliers.
For Paint, I Use Vapormatic from Bristol UK, they have arange of very good quality paints with quite good colour match, Fordson, blue and orange, Allis Persian, Land Rover Green, blue and white, and of course IH.
http://www.vapormatic.com/ They have certainly Europewide cover
I havn't explored yet what they do in bits for Cubs yet.
Hope it's of use, Best wishes,
Pat
