Tractor split - Hydraulic lines

Postby Tom Evans » Tue Apr 19, 2005 3:59 pm

I'm getting ready to replace the clutch in my '57 lowboy, and the manual says disconnect the hydraulic lines and plug the holes to prevent fluid loss. What size of plug should I have ready when I do the disconnect? Also do you usually need to replace the O rings and gaskets when you re-assemble?

Not too sure but I think it is a #6 or # 8 Jic fitting.
My dad once told me if it wasn't for bad luck......I wouldn't have any luck at all......

Hi Tom

The Hy-tran oil that is supposed to be in your hyd system is supposed to asorb water to keep it from sitting in one place freezing and breaking somthing. If it hasen't been changed in a while you might want to think about changing it.
Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you. 1964 cub. Farmall 100 and 130.
