Postby Maritimer » Sun Apr 03, 2005 7:22 pm

Has any one had any experience with the cub bull gear? Can anyone tell me what the purpose of them is for?

Are you replacing, or are you thinking that a "bull gear" is a piece of optional equipment?

I thought it would be an option if you wanted to put one on.

The bull gear is the big gear in the final drive where the wheels attach. They are required, not optional.

Ah yes John. Ok I thought it was another gear that would let you reduce your speed further. Someday maybe I'll stop asking silly questions. I learn things all the time. YOU CAN TEACH OLD DOGS NEW TRICKS!

We've all asked our share of questions we later thought were silly. Me especially. There was a gear reducer for the cubs, that came with the Howard rotavator. It mounted between the left final drive and the transmission. Had a lever to engage it, or leave it normal. I'd love to have one, but they usually cost more than a cub if you can find them.
