Touch Control lines question?

Postby CapeCodCubs » Thu May 31, 2012 12:10 pm

Sunday I had a little mini fest that didn't amount to much except that me and my friend Jeremy rebuilt the TC unit and installed it on one of my Cubs. Funny thing is on the manifold that bolts the lines to the TC unit there is a threaded female slot in the manifold for a fitting and on one of my TC units there is a fitting on the side of the block. My other TC unit is not like this. I looked at TM pictures of the TC unit and they show no addition lines on the unit. I vaguely remember a line going to the side of the TC block.
.
Anyone have any idea what this is I am asking about?

Thanks,
Chris

Yeah is older block, both of my Cubs are early F Cubs 1948 and 1949. I took the hydraulics off the 48 and put them on the 49. The TC unit I rebuilt was a free one from TM parts. Thanks....I will take pictures tonight so people can see what the heck I am asking about.

The parts manual shows that in the very early models, That is the safety bypass, or pressure relief whichever you prefer to call it. It is internal on the later ones.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

The unit I put on does not have the brass fitting on the block, my other block does.

The lines to the TC unit have the female receiver like the picture shown. Do I just plug it?

Yes, the later ones with the internal bypass have a hex plug in that hole like the upper plug.

Great, thanks for the answers. Well I got my hydraulic pump rebuild kit from TM parts yesterday so I will rebuild the pump tonight ( or replace gasket, and o rings) and I should be having the hydraulics working soon.

Then on to get the fast hitch squared away and sooon will be good to go.

Also to note that when I came home from work yesterday...I spotted a yellow cub in the front field....someone had been doing some plowing. lol thanks for the help JD
