After market parts?

Postby brichter » Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:03 pm

Okay, Andy has to have a complete engine rebuild. He is losing just too much compression. My question to the board is this: My shop wants to know if I want to buy IH parts or use aftermarket? The mechanic says some aftermarket parts are good. I need some input on this as to where to order my parts and which ones are suitable? I am a newbie and depend on this forum for 99% of my info. For which, I might add, I am eternally grateful.

Ordering parts

Postby Eugene » Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:38 pm

There are a number of places to order Cub parts. Advertisers on this board are a good place to start, Valubilt is another.

After market parts. I would use them. Some OEM parts are after market. Depending on what you need there are good used parts available.

Before you order parts you need to know the specifications (sizes). It may save you some money if you order and pay for the parts. Down size is that if you get the wrong parts, you have to take the time and money to correct.

My thought, after reading your message, is that I would let the mechanic/shop order the parts. Just my opinion.
