I have a 1951 Cub. The owner's manual specifies 8.00x24 rear and 4.00x12 front tires. The tires that are currently on the machine are 9.50x24 and 4.80x12.
I've read through some previous threads on this subject but am wondering as to what is the correct tire size for my machine? I am kind of surprised that there is that much latitude in the width of tires you can put on the rears.

Either the 8.3 or 9.5 wide tires would be correct.

Tire Brands
Thanks Bigdog. Do you or any other forum members have any experience with Continental Tires? A dealer in my area can get Firestone, Kelly and Continental Ag tires for the Cub. It is his opinion that the Continentals are the better work tires. Thanks again, Jim

No personal experience with them. But several members have purchased tires from Miller Tire or Tucker Tire and even with shipping have saved money and gotten decent tires even though they are foreign brands.
Whatever you put on there will likely outlast both of us.
