In the mag part number 89 & 84 is a cup and trip lever. When the mag turns over this allows the lever to catch on a fixed cam. The cup then winds up a spring then trips the lever to spin the mag faster for a hotter spark. I worked on Edison mags, Fairbanks Morse mags, wico mags in the past. Make sure the trip lever is free to expose itself to the cam so it winds up the spring.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
