The McCormick Deering blade doesn't have the brackets under the swivel frame to keep it from dropping down, and uses a bolt in the hole where you set the rignt and left angle to both hold the angle and keep the rear of the bracket up.

Course, I am kinda confused with all three variations. Still have yet to find a Cub-54 Manual and trying to figure out the differences is getting real confusing. John, the blade that went to John N. was a McCormick correct? And this one is a combination?

Rudi, look at the manuals for the 2 blades, in particular the brekadonw for the frmae the blade swivels on. On the 54 and 54 there is a plate on each side that goes under the bottom arc. These keep the arc from dropping down , so you can just drop a pin in it when you swivel it. The McMormick deering blade doesn't have these 2 plates, and has a bolt to lock the right and left swivel rather than a pin.

Yeah, what John said. Also, look at the frame at the sides where the blade is pinned to it. The Mc-D frame bends out into a pin hole. The 54/54A frame bends forward with an additional strap so the pin goes through the frame and the strap. The Mc-D blade has a bolt through the center for the center hinge bracket. The 54/54A doesn't have a corresponding part.

The way I know TM's pressure spring assembly is a reproduction is because he says "new, manufactured in the U.S.A.". I have looked them over closely, and that is the only way I can tell.

Here is the bracket I am referring to. A McCormick Deering blade doesn't have it, which is the reeason the left/right pitch requires a bolt rather than a drop in pin. Also the arc that goes through it has a verticl bend on the McCormich blade rather than running horizontal as this one does.

Is this the right one for a McCormick Deering? This is ALL new to me, I haven't a clue on what is what on these blades are. All I wanna know, will it move snow?

AND is it RED or is it BLUE I don't think I will be able to find any color but RUST

That is a McCormick Deering and the difference is pretty easy to see side by side.
