Great information, Steve. But, I'm still a little confused. Maybe a little dense, too. Bill Hudson said the application for the B1210 was a Cub Cadet snow thrower. Is this the same bearing that fits the Cub transmission? Thanks.

Don,

My part catalog is in the Cubhouse, however, I'm willing to bet you a barley beverage that the bearings are different. The bearings I used were too small for a Cub transmission, I think.

I am not sure what bearing you want information for. The B1210-OH bearing is for the following nominal dimensions: 1.00"O.D., .750" bore (I.D.), by .625" Wide. With the oil hole. It may be IHC # 373750R91? Remember, this "OH" bearing is the same size as the B1210, but, has the oil hole. It would most likely have a different IHC number than the non-oil hole version? Keep in mind, these bearings fit way more things than just IHC machines.
What are the nominal dimensions you are seeking. Can be looked up. Also, the NB35 is obsolete and the maker has sold off the needle bearing mfg. to Japan company, too.
F.Y.I. the rating for the B1210-OH is Static load @ 6820lbs., Dynamic load @ 4080lbs. And is rated at 3600rpm in grease and at 5600 rpm in oil. Don't think the Cub is even straining these bearings. Let me know if I can research more for you. I am not too versed on the IHC part numbers, though. Steve K.

Just trying to find out if there is actually a rear transmission bearing, with oil hole, available in today's market.

Hi Don, are the dimensions for the B1210-OH correct for the rear transmission bearing? If so, then this bearing is correct and is very available. If not this size, what is the size needed, I'll try to locate an available number for you. Steve K.

My local bearing supply plus, the local Motion Industries did not have anything in stock that was the same size as the Torrington NB-35. They both could order the 1210, but no "OH". My local bearing supply came up with the one I have pictured which is the same I.D. and O.D. and 1/8 longer and has a nice large oil hole. I thought I'd give it a try. However.....I fully understand that counter help isn't what it used to be and the exact bearing complete with the oil hole can be found if referenced correctly. TM Tractor is down for a while, but I think he had a replacement.

Harold, the Motion site indicates their part number is 00090748 for the B1210oh, koyo nrb @ $14.16 each. They might have to get it from one of their warehouses or another branch. Also, Applied Ind. Tech. shows their # 7371412 for the same at $14.20 each. Both suppliers show as in stock at this time. They probably don't stock too many of these bearings. Also, Amazon.com indicates they have a source for the bearing for $12.68 each. You get free shipping on $25.00 or more order per the site. May take 2-5 wks. to ship per site. Another site I am not familiar with "vxb.com" indicates #SCE1210 or BA1210ZOH as a correct part and would be back ordered for $5.95 each!
I will check on some other availabilities with a friend of mine who is employed with a major supplier to see if he can come up with some available choices, too. Heck, I am going to nee one of the little bearings, too! Good luck, Steve K.

Folks,

I'm sorry to have created the confusion I have caused with the Torrington B-1210 bearing. Early on I said:
The number I was referring to was B-1210. This is for IH part number 387835R91. Application, you ask? Rotor drive for a QA-42 Snow Thrower.
Also indicated that I did not think it would work in the transmission:
My part catalog is in the Cubhouse, however, I'm willing to bet you a barley beverage that the bearings are different. The bearings I used were too small for a Cub transmission, I think.

I just looked up all the bearings for the transmission and part #387835R91 does not appear, therefor, the B-1210 bearing is not used in the transmission.

Again, I'm sorry to have created the confusion.

No apology necessary, Bill. I understood from your Friday post that the bearing you were discussing was not a Cub transmission bearing.

As a quick update.... I wasn't paying full attention and ordered the B-1210-OH.... it is NOT the correct one for a Cub transmission. Not the best time to find out, was going to press it in... no press needed, it almost fell through (I was holding it).

So, where does this leave us? Harold, what's the latest status on your bearing and what's the number for it? Thanks.

Nice thing about TM being open.... I only have to eat my pride and a $12 bearing from Amazon. I am the one that always tells folks to get bearings and seals from either TM or a dealer. That bearing is available from either, the only question is if it has the oil hole (will know on Thursday, when my package arrives from TM... Priority Mail is quick). The new CaseIH number is 87728968, about $20. http://www.tmtractor.com/new/tr/422fp.htm

The packaging on the 'wrong' bearing was 'Koyo/Torrington'. Pretty sure it said 'made in USA'.

Mr Hudson, need a bearing for your snowblower?? If so, I have one for ya! It has a problem, there is a hole in the outer race

The original bearing was made in Torrington CT by The Torrington Company. The plant was a good customer of mine and I spent a lot of time there. When Timken bought them, the plant was closed and that line was moved. The version with the oil hole was not made after that. Koyo eventually bought the needle bearing line. Personally, I think the older case is more attractive now just because of the excellent sealed bearing adaptation that was been discussed on the forum. I think enough oil slings around to be OK, as long as it is at the proper level and not full of water.

The ones I've gotten from TM do not have the oil hole.

I've got maybe 5 hours of run-time on the bearing and all is well....so far. I'll try and get the number. Just starting to get my shop back in order.
