Am I missing something here on this shroud?

Postby John Niekamp » Thu Feb 17, 2005 10:31 pm

I have been looking for a fan shroud for my Cub. I found this one on Ebay and I am kinda scratching me head.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 84932&rd=1

I have seen them go from 10-40 bucks, but NEVER this much.

What am I not seeing here? is this some ODD-BALL one?

Jamie sent me an email for a good one for a LOT less.

John I just looked at this myself. Could not believe my eyes. Some people just get crazy when they are bidding I guess

Yeah, I have been watching them for some time and I even re-checked in the sold items and found them, too.

Hey, I know what it is, this one has the bolts included, :D :D :D :D

Heck I can't really blame him, more power to him, just thought maybe there was something I overlooked.

The same bidder looks to be running up a bid on a steering wheel. Up to $80.00 now. I bought one at Cubarama for about $50.00. :o

 This makes three oddballs in the last week. The tachometer, the draw bar and this fan shroud. I looked at the tach and draw bar to see if it was the same person and it wasn't.

Well I am giving this gentleman the benefit of the doubt that I don't think he is having anyone jump up the bidding for him, just from looking at his other items listed. Everything else is going kind of cheap, in my opinion.

Well this is something I have noticed with my own experiences with auctions in the past. I have listed items at certain times when there may be several others like it and get almost nothing for it. Then other times with the same thing and myself having only one listed and then is brings good money, or at least what it may be worth. It's like flooding the market, I guess. SO, I am careful and doing some looking around eBay beforehand. I don't put on a reserve, but rather my lowest possible price and if it goes up from that, then I consider I have made some extra money.

I also use eBay a LOT as an aid in setting my prices for private sale. I will go and find at least 10 items SOLD similar to what I am selling and then write them down and then average those to get a price. With this in mind I know everyone is like me I always like to just get the very best deal possible. Everyone loves to haggle, myself included, but I am a cheap tight-wad too

Hey if he's getting that kind of money and someone is willing to pay that much money, more power to him, right :?: just not ME or probably anyone of us on here

Hey Fellers, You all are not seeing the correct image while looking at the shroud picture. The reason it is drawing so much attention and ($$$$$$$s) is because it is a rare TURBO~SHROUD
Then came Bronson

Yeah, but it's missing the crapulator bracket so it can't be worth half that! :)

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

The real reason the shroud is so expensive is that it not only comes with the mounting screws but also the ever elusive "holes"  8)

I thought we used up all the holes last week!!! I hope that there isn't a whole lot of holes left for this unholy topic again. Dan
